Events

Events Include:

AUB Faculty Seminars
  • In September of 2002, a year after few AUB faculty used a Learning Management System for the first time, the Academic Computing Center invited five active instructors to participate in AUB's First Faculty Seminar on Teaching and Learning with Technology. Since 2002, faculty members have given new presentations in annual Faculty Seminars, which have always attracted large audiences.

Summer Seminars
  • The Summer Seminars on Creative Use of Resources in Course Design assists selected instructors in making greater use of the various academic resources available at AUB and in integrating them into their courses. The seminars were originally supported by a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and are now funded by AUB. ACC cooperates with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Library Information Services (LIS) in this endeavor.

Other Events:
  • In addition to the above yearly events, the Academic Computing Center organizes other activities to encourage the use of technology in education at AUB. The most recent is ACC's Open House, which introduced the AUB community to new ACC units, services, and facilities. Other examples include the various sessions sponsored by ACC to publicize new technologies, such as Web 2.0 applications.
