Topic outline

Training at ACC allows faculty members to enrich their courses and facilitate their research through the use of technology. In addition to learning how to use computer applications, faculty members are introduced to the educational benefits of these different technology tools.

Training Information

There are 2 types of workshops on computer applications and instructional technologies:
  • Custom Sessions for individuals and groups of faculty members
  • Scheduled Workshops on Moodle and newly offered topics
These workshops aim to assist faculty in using computer applications in their teaching. They can be held at the ACC Lab in the Van Dyck Annex OR in your office.

ACC Workshops
  • Are available at no charge to all AUB faculty members
  • Are offered to individuals or to groups
  • Include demonstrations and hands-on practice
  • Run from one to three hours
  • Are supported by handouts, tutorials and online resources
  • Are designed to be interactive and collaborative
  • Focus on information and resources that are directly applicable to educators' teaching and research

Topics and Pre-requisites
  • Before requesting a workshop, please check the topics to be covered and the prerequisites from the "Training Topics" menu on the left of the page
  • In each session, the workshop presenter will assume that participants share a common level of understanding. If you lack the required knowledge, you will quickly fall behind
  • You can also take a look at or download the tutorials available under Resources for a thorough preview of your session

Workshop Request and Registration
  • For Scheduled Workshops, check the workshop schedule to select a topic and fill out the Scheduled Sessions form to reserve your place
  • For Custom Sessions, choose a topic and fill out the Request a Session form. The form should be submitted at least 48 hours before the chosen date. An e-mail will be sent back to you confirming the date and time. If you have not received confirmation 24 hours before the workshop starts, please call us at 3519
  • If you cannot attend a workshop that you requested, please inform us by phone (3519) or by e-mail (acc@aub.edu.lb)

Materials and Evaluation
  • All workshop materials will be provided as handouts for you to keep. Feedback from workshop attendees has shown that these materials are very good future references
  • At the end of each session you will be asked to fill out a workshop evaluation form. Please take this opportunity to give us your feedback and make suggestions for the improvement of our program. If for some reason you do not fill out the evaluation form at the end of the session, we will send you an e-mail with a link for you to follow so that you can fill out the form online
